RC Genk winger Joseph Paintsil has been dropped from Ghana’s 2022 FIFA World Cup final squad, according to a report by Muftawu Nabila Abdulai.

Muftawu Nabila Abdulai reveals the Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, told Paintsil it was not his decision to drop him from the squad but that of the entire technical team.

This is not the first time the 24-year-old has been dropped from the squad; he was also not in the team that played Brazil and Nicaragua in the September friendlies.

When Otto Addo was asked for explanation, he cited his unavailability at the Kirin Cup in Japan for not naming him in the squad.

Joseph Paintsil has played 13 league games for Genk in Belgium, scored six times and provided five assists.

Ghana is in Group H of the 2022 FIFA World Cup alongside Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea.

The Black Stars will play Portugal on November 24, South Korea four days later and Uruguay on December 2.
