Coach Otto Addo has said that the Black Stars team did not have enough time to prepare for the Qatar World Cup 2022.

Otto Addo, who the Black Stars’ recently resigned from Black Stars coaching job has  bemoaned that the time frame given to the team to prepare for the World Cup was insufficient.

According to him, his appointment as the Black Stars’ head coach after taking over from Rajevac on May 23 may have been another factor in the team’s early elimination from the competition, despite the fact that he observed some growth among the players.

“The windows we had were June, September and World Cup so there was not much time,” he told the media at a briefing on Saturday.

“Surely this is normal. If we will have had more time together, we could have developed even better. I saw a lot of processes and I know it is difficult for a lot of people to understand.”

In related news, Otto Addo has arrived in Germany to reunite with his wife and kids following Black Stars exit from the World Cup

The 47-year-old failed to lead the Black Stars past the group stage after losing their final group game to Uruguay on Friday.

After the game, coach Addo indicated that he would be leaving his role as Ghana coach at the end of his contract, stating clearly that Dortmund released him for only six months and that he needed to settle with his family in Germany.

Otto Addo was spotted in a photo with his family, confirming that he has arrived safely in Germany following his resignation as head coach of the Black Stars and Ghana’s exit from the Qatar World Cup last Friday after the team lost to Uruguay 2:0 at Al Janoub stadium.
