Basic schools and second cycle institutions across the country will soon go on break in line with the curtailing of the second term/semester as they will be preparing for another term in the coming months.

All junior high school, kindergarten and primary students will spend a total of fourteen weeks each for the first and second term while the third term lasts for only twelve weeks.

For basic schools, the vacation date for the first term will begin from 21st April, 2023 through to 1st May, 2023.

However, all basic school students are expected to resume after the first term break in order to proceed with the second semester academic curriculum on 2nd May, 2023.

In light of this fact, basic school students are expected to arrive in school up until 9th August 2023.

The third term reopening date will begin on 22nd August hence basic school students will be expected to be in school till 16th November, 2023 with vacation date slated for 17th November, 2023.

SHS 2 and 3 students are expected to reopen on 9th January, 2023. However, final year JHS students ie JHS 3 students will go on a long break on 17th February, 2023 while those in JHS 2 go on a long break on 9th March 2023.
