Forty students of Ejuraman Anglican Senior High School in the Ejura-Sekyedumase of the Ashanti region have been hospitalised after a dining hall collapsed on them during heavy rainfall.

Five of the victims are in critical condition in the incident that occurred around 5 pm on Monday, February 6, 2023.

The Municipal Fire Commander, DOIII Isaac Eduah told Class News’ Elisha Adarkwah that about 100 students were dining at the makeshift structure used as the dining hall when it collapsed.

During the incident, he said, some of the students were running helter-skelter, which resulted in a stampede, causing injuries in the process.

The injured students have been admitted at the Ejura Government Hospital for medical treatment.
