Kevin-Prince Boateng has expressed regret over the manner in which his time with the Black Stars came to an end.

Boateng, born in Germany and played for them at the youth level, switched allegiance to Ghana in 2010 and went on to play in two World Cups.

However, his international career was cut short after a bust-up with the coach, Kwasi Appiah, during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

A Commission of Inquiry was set up in the aftermath of the tournament, resulting in Boateng being banned from the national team.

In an interview with Oma Sports TV, as quoted by Ghanaweb, Boateng said, “There were some misunderstandings, I feel sorry it ended like this because after 2010 we could have built something very good because we had a great team.

“I wish the Black Stars nothing but the best and I will always be a fan.”
