Lionel Messi has donated 3.5 million euros to Turkey and Syria after the catastrophic earthquake.

According to Turkish media reports, the Argentine asked his foundation to send aid to the earthquake sites.

Earthquakes in Turkey, Syria: Death Toll Passes 21,000
Rescue teams battled snow and freezing temperatures to search for survivors following two earthquakes in Turkey and Syria as hopes faded of finding people alive on the fourth day.

Meanwhile thermal cameras used at the residence of Ghanaian football player, Christian Atsu have confirmed that many people are alive under the rubble following earthquakes in Turkey.

The demolished building housed Christian Atsu, Hatayspor’s Sporting Director, Taner Savut, Turkish handball player, Cemal Kütahya and his family.

Rescue efforts are still ongoing to save people under the rubble.

Turkish Sports Journalist, Ekrem Konur reports that the building had 250 flats.

Monday’s devastating earthquakes has left nearly 20,000 dead in Turkey and Syria.

President of Turkey,  Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has described the earthquakes as “the disaster of the century” after causing great destruction in 10 provinces.
