I was selling maize with my father at Kaneshie – Asamoah Gyan Causes Stir With Narration About His poor Childhood Life

Ghanaian legend, Asamoah Gyan has stated that, divergent to celebrities who come out to say they came from humble beginnings just to motivate hustlers to keep pushing, he wouldn’t say he is from a poor home.

However, he wasn’t that poor as most people might think. Speaking in a recent interview, the player said his father sold maize at the Kaneshie market while his mother was a headmistress in a school located around where they lived.

He added that, though he never attended a government school during his childhood, he wouldn’t say he was extremely fortunate as far as wealth is concerned.

According to him, though he was enrolled in one of the most prominent basic schools in capital city of Ghana, he used to help his father to sell maize at the market after he had closed from school.
