As the two football stars frequently traded insults on social media, Christian Atsu and Mubarak Wakaso were thought to have a unique bond.

The Black Stars players created amusing and satirical content that enthralled and engaged their followers.

So, it was not surprising that most Ghanaians looked forward to hearing good news from Mubarak Wakaso as the Atsu issue developed.

Unfortunately for Ghanaians and Wakaso, the player on Saturday, February18,2023, had nothing positive to report other than a tweet that said, “rest well.”

The two players engaged in what has since been revealed to be their final social media banter a little more than a month before the catastrophe hit.

On January10, Christian Atsu’s birthday, Wakaso wrote his customary message making fun of his close friend.

With a picture of the two players presumably in a Ghana camp, Wakaso tweeted “Happy birthday to you bro. I will continue to feed you love. sia banku.”

The birthday boy, as expected, did not let it slide, he replied “You fool too much” with three emojis of laughter.

Christian Atsu was identified as dead during a 12-day search and rescue operation, with his body reportedly being found in the wreckage of a building in Hatayar, Turkey.

His agent, Nana Sechere, who has been in Turkey for over a week, confirmed Christian Atsu’s demise.
