Steven Gerrard Wanted Christian Atsu To Join Liverpool – Samuel Inkoom Reveals

Talented Ghanaian defender, Samuel Inkoom has stated that Liverpool football legend, Steven Gerrard was in the luring process of getting Christian Atsu to join Liverpool back in the days.

In a recent interview monitored by ghlatest, Inkoom revealed that, the former Newcastle midfielder drew keen interest from Liverpool prior to his move to Chelsea.

Adding to this, Inkoom indicated that he tried to convince Atsu to join Liverpool with the help of his agent who was very cool with the Hatayaspor footballer but all his efforts proved futile.

Furthermore, he said plans on getting Atsu to join Liverpool didn’t yield any positive results even with the intervention of Steven Gerrard who was then a known football legend of the club at that time.
