UDS student travelled from Wa to receive GHC 200 prize as best WASSCE student in Gushegu

Best student of the just ended West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) of the Gushegu Senior High School, Abdul-Latif Fawei has received two hundred Ghana cedis (200 ghc) award from the MP for the area, Lawyer Hassan Tampuli.

This came to light following yesterday’s 66th independence celebration of the country, where the cash amount was presented to the awardee by the District Education Director.

“I completed Gushiegu Senior high school last year, also I had the best results in the school when the results came. I had a call from my school the day before yesterday, inviting me to come to Gushegu on the 6th March. They told me that the M.P., Honourable Alhassan Tampuli has an award for me”, he said.

“I went to Gushegu on the 6th March day that was yesterday for the award as best WASSCE student of Gushegu SHS. I was presented with an envelope (containing 200 ghc) by the education director”, he added.

Master Latif completed Gushegu Senior High School in 2022 where he studied General Arts and is currently in University for Development Studies (UDS) Wa campus where he is pursuing Education and Social Science.

He had to travel all the way from Upper West to receive the award.
