Fire Outbreak: Over 8,000 Shops At Kejetia Market Reportedly Used One Meter

Information gathered by ghlatest.net indicates over eight thousand shops in the Kejetia market used a single meter since its completion in December 2018.

A few days ago, parts of one of the busiest market centers in the Asanti region was engulfed in fire which led to the burning of wares estimated at millions of Ghana cedis.

The fire outbreak eventually which began during the early hours of Wednesday 15 March, 2023 outraged the first and second floors of the market destroying numerous shops before the Ghana Fire Service could do anything to intervene.

Due to the sudden emergence of this unanticipated situation, the Kejetia market has been temporarily shut down for a thorough assessment of the intensity of damage caused to the facility.
