Ghanaian dancehall music crooner, Shatta Wale has come out to describe the relationship between the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and himself.

According to him, the popular Ghanaian music awards show and himself have a relationship that can easily be compared to that a man and his ex-løvêr.

After organizers of the popular award ceremony placed a 2-year ban on the “1 Don” hitmaker following the brawl that ensued between himself and Stonebwoy in 2019 which was eventually lifted, Shatta has not been part of the event as he announced he had boycotted the award scheme.

Divergent to the case of Shatta, Stonebwoy has been receiving nominations for the consequent editions of the award program and to top it up he even won the award for the best Raggae Dancehall Song of the Year Award category at the 23rd VGMA’s after showing interest in the scheme.

Explaining further on why he has still not been part of the award scheme, he stated clearly that he will only accept to be part of the prestigious award ceremony again if they come to a consensus because he feels there should be a nice approach in line with how he is treated by organizers of the show.
