“Why Should Amartey Be Made Captain When Jordan Is Around?” Countryman Songo Fires Chris Houghton Over Captaincy In Angola Game

Outspoken Sports Analyst, Patrick Osei Agyemang popularly known as Countryman Songo has chided newly appointed Black Stars coach, Chris Houghton over his decision to make Daniel Amartey captain during Ghana’s second leg game against Angola in Luanda.

According to him, Jordan Ayew has more experience than the Leicester City defender hence he doesn’t any reason why he should be overlooked when he is equally participating in the game with Amartey.

Explaining further, he said if Andre Dede Ayew is not around to hold the captains armband, he believes the next person in line should be Thomas Partey.

However, if the aforementioned players are not in any Black Stars game, then the next person who should be given the opportunity to wear the captains armband should be Jordan Ayew, not Daniel Amartey.

He reiterated that Jordan Ayew has more experience than Thomas Partey and he believes he should be second in command as far as captaincy for the Black Stars is concerned hence he doesn’t see any reason why Chris Houghton overlooked the Crystal Palace midfielder when he was still in the Ghana-Angola second leg game and playing very well.
