The uncle of talented Cremonese attacker, Felix Afena-Gyan, Abrefa Gyan has come out to explain what compelled the player to turn down an invitation from the head coach of the Black Meteors to join the junior team during the March international break.

According to Coach Ibrahim Tanko, the manager of the Black Meteors, Afena-Gyan’s decision not to join the team was based on unreadiness per his agent.

Divergent to his disclosure, numerous Ghanaians have speculated that he refused to join the team because he was snubbed by Otto Addo from joining the Black Stars team to the 2022 World Cup after contributing massively towards the team’s ability to qualify over Nigeria in 2022.
