Easter Pushes Transport Fares Up In Kwahu Area

Information gathered by ghlatest indicates at the Atibie-Nkawkaw taxi rank in the Kwahu municipality of the Eastern region have decided to increase transport fares in line with the increased demand linked with the Kwahu Easter induced gridlocks.

For drivers in the Kwahu municipality, since they cannot move at their usual speed to make money on the occasion due to traffic jams, they believe there is the need to increase transport fares to cater for their fuel cost.

According to a driver who works in the Kwahu-Atibie area, traffic associated with Easter has made their business extremely unprofitable which is one reason why they will consider increasing fares amidst the celebration.

In line with this sincere confession, drivers in the area have indicated that they will switch back to the old fares once the Easter festivities are over.
