‘Until It’s Mathematically Impossible, Real Madrid Continues To Fight On’ – Thibaut Courtois

Real Madrid shot-stopper, Thibaut Courtois has said that he and his team is still holding out hope that they may catch Laliga leaders Barcelona and narrowly hold on to their title.

As it stands, the scenario at the top of the Spanish top flight could only change if Barcelona lost and Real Madrid kept winning.

Barcelona’s impressive lead was cut to eight points by Real Madrid’s victory over Celta Vigo on Saturday but the Catalans still had a home match against Athletico Madrid scheduled for the following day.

Supposing Barcelona won that match, their lead would have been back to 11 points with eight rounds of games remaining.

Even if Barcelona were to lose, their lead will still be such that they would remain firm title favorites.
