Wizkid, Davido, Others Wouldn’t Have Dominated Afrobeats If We Didn’t Split – P-Square

Nigerian music duo, P-Square, made up of musicians Peter and Paul Okoye have claimed that if not for their separation, the likes of Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy wouldn’t have dominated the afrobeats music scene.

The music duo stated that they dominated the Nigerian and African music scene for over 13 years until the briefly disbanded in 2016, paving the way for other musicians to shine.

Reacting to claims Afrobeats gained global recognition after their separation, Peter Okoye stated that it is never true.

According to Paul Okoye, they actually held the genre down for over thirteen to fourteen years and dominated the music scene for a very long time before the likes of Davido, Burna Boy and Wizkid came into the scene to continue with the Afrobeats genre.
