2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Ghana To Know Group Opponents In July

The senior national team of Ghana face a tough road to qualify for the 2026 World Cup tournament which will be hosted by Mexico, United States and Canada.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has established a qualification format for African teams that includes a total of nine or possibly ten teams from the continent.

Basically, the tournament consists of nine groups with six teams with the toppers of the group getting an automatic and direct qualification for the World Cup.

To identify the tenth team to represent the continent at the mundial, CAF introduced an additional option.

With this option, the top four from each group will advance to the finals after which the winner of the playoffs will move to face a team from the CONCACAF zone in order to fight for an opportunity to win the tenth and final spot at the 2026 World Cup tournament.
