We Need A Genre To Represent Ghanaian Music Globally – Appietus

Celebrated music producer, Appietus has stated that he believes that despite the high level of popularity some artists have gained beyond Ghana’s borders, a lack of genre, specific to the country’s music, is hindering the ability of Ghanaian music to be recognized globally.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Appietus said that, unlike Ghana, countries like South Africa, Jamaica, Nigeria and others have a genre that is recognized by foreigners who want to explore their music.

The music producer said this helps to not only help push their artists but their music to other parts of the globe.

According to Appietus, the Black Stars of Ghana is more popular than the music genre Ghanaian musicians are accustomed when one moves outside the country.
