Head coach of the Black Meteors of Ghana, coach Ibrahim Tanko has stated that he is counting on the invited Black Stars players to make his team stronger as they prepare for the upcoming U-23 African Cup Of Nations tournament to be held in Morroco later this month.

As part of the team’s preparation, Ghana was held to a 1-1 draw against Egypt at the Alexandria Stadium in the first of their two planned pre-tournament friendly.

Daniel Afriyie Barnieh placed the Black Meteors in front after converting a penalty kick following a foul won by Fatawu Issahaku in the early stages of the game.

However, the Egyptians restored parity later on after failing to convert a spot-kick earlier on.

Ibrahim Tanko expressed his satisfaction with the way his side fared commending them for holding the Egyptians until the final whistle despite the fact that the game ended with them playing ten against eleven.

He emphasized that the likes of Ernest Nuamah, Ernest Nuamah and Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer, who are currently training with senior national team ahead of their upcoming AfCON qualifier against Madagascar will bring improvement to the U-23 side.
