Deputy Sports Minister Evans Bobie Details Why Ghana Cannot Win U-23 AFCON Trophy

The Deputy Minister for Sports, Hon. Evance Opoku Bobie has admitted that the current Black Meteors team are way below the level of trophy-winning side.

The Minister, who is currently with the squad in Morocco in line with the team’s participation in the ongoing TotalEnergies U-23 AFCON tournament has stated that Ghana’s 5-1 defeat to the host nation, Morocco last Tuesday, is as a result of the North African’s investment to develop their football.

Evance Bobie ascribed that Ghana’s football situation is in decline and that flaws are observable, but the public are desperate for a trophy at all cost.

He added that though he is aware the country is in dying need for a trophy, he can state categorically that, that dream can’t become a reality if the country’s football fraternity doesn’t build a formidable team.
