Sarkodie’s Reply To Yvonne Nelson Is Like Taking A Gun To A Paper Fight – Akosua Hanson

Celebrated female media personality, Akosua Hanson has called on Ghana’s most decorated rapper, Sarkodie, to consider re-recording a mature and reflective version of his recent “Try Me” song, a tune that is considered a reply to Yvonne Nelson’s recent abortion allegations.

According to the recognized Queen of the Evening Radio Show, Sarkodie’s ‘Try Me’ song is a beautiful song as far as art is concerned.

However, he failed to show maturity while addressing the trending issues in the song.

In a technical breakdown of the song, Miss Hanson called it a rap battle comprising three elements. The elements she revealed included insults, wordplay, and boasting with the end result of cutting down the opponent.

She reiterated that, battle rap is always vicious and what makes it a punch is that it pulls on what society finds painful.

However, inferring from excerpts she has read and discussions about Yvonne Nelson’s recent memoire, it felt like Sarkodie was brought a gun into what was literally a paper fight.

That’s to say he went too hard in his recent freestyle considering the fact that she was responding to a female celebrity who isn’t a rapper like he is.
