The recent controversy surrounding the ongoing feud between actress Yvonne Nelson and award-winning rapper Sarkodie has taken a different twist.
Iconic dancehall musician, Shatta Wale has taken to his official social media page to give fans a teaser of his highly anticipated new track titled “Yvonne.”
In the song, the “Akweley Take” hitmaker takes aim at Sarkodie, who recently released a diss track called “Try Me” in which he accused Nelson of having an abortion and having extremely affairs with other men while they were dating.
Shatta Wale defends the famous actress in the song, calling her a strong and independent lady who doesn’t deserve to be dragged through the mud.
In addition to these words of encouragement, the song also has a message of empowerment for women who are often marginalized in the society for a variety of reasons.
The “My Level” hitmaker rapped about how women are often misjudged and chastised for their choices, but he urges them to stand up for themselves and not let anyone define them or try to intimidate based on their gender and the vulnerability that comes with it.
