Chris Houghton Must Improve – GFA ExCO Member Randy Abbey



Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Randy Abbey has stated emphatically that he has been not impressed with the performance of current Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton.
The former Everton manager was named the head coach of the senior national team of Ghana in February 2023 with George Boateng and Didi Dramani assisting him as his assistant coaches.
Chris Houghton signed a 21-month deal following the resignation of Otto Addo after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar where the Black Stars exited at the group stage of the football competition.
Under Houghton, the Black Stars has still not lost a game after three games played. The Black Stars team has recorded a win and two draws.
According to Randy Abbey, he and his comrades are not too happy and they think a lot of improvement which needs to be made.
He reiterated that he is aware also the GFA doesn’t have all the time in the world, so they need to be fast about whatever changes needs to be made.
He stated that they had a lot of expectations for Chris Houghton and his team comprising of Didi Dramani and George Boateng.
Randy went on to say that based on the fact these sportsmen have been around the Black Stars team for while, he feels they could hit the ground running.
