Prominent music producers and record label owner, Don Jazzy, has recently explained why he chose not to sign singers Simi and Teni to his renowned record label, Mavin Records.
In a recent interview, the music producer expressed regret for not signing Simi and Teni, adding that he really admired their work and wished he had signed them to his label.
Don Jazzy also recalled how Simi partook in a Twitter competition and submitted her own version of D’Prince and Wande Coal’s song “Journey of a Thousand Miles.”
He went further to state that he wasn’t the one in charge of selecting the winners, stressing how much he likes Simi’s talent but couldn’t choose her.
Regarding Teni, Don Jazzy said the situation was similar.

He said they use to check up on each other but the singer hadn’t grown to the point that she could be moved from Atlanta to Nigeria for work.
Don Jazzy said he and his team was working before deciding they were going to sign her but before they knew what was happening, there were faster people who got hold of her and quickly she released records and they were like, okay, they lost that one.
