Lionel Messi Pays Homage To Diego Maradona As He Introduces New Argentina Jersey



Former PSG attacker, Lionel Messi never fails to stay out of the headlines. The Argentine skipper made history after deciding to join forces with Inter Miami in the MLS, and exhibiting exceptional performances in his first 2 games for the American club.

The salient Argentine attacker netted an amazing last-minute free-kick against Cruz Azul and a scored a brace on his first start with Inter Miami against Atlanta United.

Arguably, the former Barcelona captain is the favourite to win the upcoming Ballon D’Or as he is known to have led Argentina to their third World Cup title in Qatar during the latter parts of the year 2022.

In a recent post on his Instagram story, Messi was identified wearing a retro Argentina kit from way back 1994, which was famously worn by Diego Maradona.

The talented Inter Miami striker honoured Diego Maradona by sporting an old-school Argentina World Cup uniform.

Both Messi and Maradona experienced  remarkable successes on a worldwide scale.

Maradona won the 1986 FIFA World Cup with the Argentine national team and was eventually recognized as the greatest footballer of that time.

Messi repeated a similar historic record when he led the Argentine national team to win the most recent FIFA World Cup held in Qatar last year, beating a star-studded French team.

The Argentine stunner made the gesture in reverence of Diego Maradona’s final FIFA World Cup participation, which took place in the United States of America 29 years ago.

The sudden demise of Maradona in November 2020 cemented his place among the greatest football players in the history of the widely acknowledged sporting activity.
