I Regret Winning 2 AfCON Trophies For Ghana – George Alhassan Recounts



Former Black Stars legend, George Alhassan has stated that despite bringing prestige to Ghana by helping the senior national team win two AfCON trophies, he regrets achieving such a feat.

The 68-year-old former Great Olympics attacker told Dan Kwaku Yeboah in a recent interview that he won AfCON twice in 1978 and 1982.

According to the salient Ghanaian international, they were promised houses prior to the tournament but after winning the trophy, nothing happened.

Adding to this,he stated that they were deceived again in 1982 after they fought had to defend the AfCON title as the then President now late Jerry John Rawlings failed to deliver on his promise to build them a house.
