A Colombian man who works at Inter Miami’s DRV PNK Stadium as a bathroom cleaner has revealed he has been fired for asking for a signature from Lionel Messi.
The astonishing incident reportedly happened at Inter Miami’s Fort Lauderdale home a few hours ago. That night, Inter Miami faced Orlando City in the last 32 of the Leagues Cup.
The Colombian man identified as Cristian Salamanca, worked for a company that is contracted to clean venues designated for various sports and music events.
Cristian Salamanca claims he was stationed near the location where the teams arrived at the stadium.
Underneath his uniform, he was wearing an Argentina jersey and when Inter Miami pulled in, Salamanca spotted his chance to make his dream of getting a signature from the Argentine skipper a reality.
According to him, he had to clean the bathrooms in the sector where the buses of the football clubs park.
Fortunately, he noticed the former PSG attacker was out there when the bus arrived and all the players got out.
In a recent disclosure, he stated that the last player to alight from the bus was Messi so immediately he saw him get from the bus, he yelled at him, ‘Hey, world champion!”.
Upon yelling, Messi turned to look and he lifted up his uniform shirt and had down the shirt of the Argentine team and a marker.
Per his narration, Messi gave him his autograph but security came right after he took the autograph and took him out to fire him from his job, but according to him, it was worth every second.
According to reports gathered by ghlatest.net, every member of staff at DRV PNK Stadium, whether employed by the American club or an outside firm was cautioned that they must remain professional and cannot continue to hassle Messi for pictures or autographs.
After Salamanca was fired, he had to to get his wife, who was working inside the stadium informed so she could park his belongings to get him out of work following his indefinite suspension.
