Talented Ghanaian rapper and hitmaker, Guru has come out to shed light on the root cause  of the ongoing feud between himself and fellow musician Kuami Eugene.

In a recent interview on Accra FM, Guru provided insights into the series of events that eventually led to the feud between them.

The ongoing feud, which had escalated into a public dispute, according to the ‘Lapaz Toyota’s hitmaker, had its roots in a mere miscommunication that went out of control.

During the recent interview, Guru explained that the initial interaction between Kuami Eugene and himself was a mutual agreement to collaborate, which had nothing to do with the young musician’s record label, Lynx Entertainment.

Guru reiterated that the initial conversation was between the two of th and not labels, and added that it was a connection made on a fundamental artistic ground, meant to lead to a substantial collaboration.

The ‘Pooley Swag’ crooner expressed frustration over the fact that the situation blew out of proportion into a public discourse when in reality, it was a private discussion between the Lynx Entertainment signee and himself.

Addressing the rumours indicating he had approached the highlife singer for a feature on his song, Guru stated emphatically that the conversation was about a potential collaboration, not a direct request for a feature.

The iconic Ghanaian rapper stressed that such discussions are often the starting point for negotiations that involve the respective managers of the musicians.

He went on to disclose that record labels have the prerogative to decide whether or not to collaborate with another musician, and no one should be cajoled into partnerships.

Guru also expressed bewilderment over the public discourse that came up after the incident.

The NKZ frontliner stated that accusations and questions about why he first approached the “Angela” hitmaker were not initiated by him.

He went further to debunk claims that he sought collaboration after past disagreements and clarified that this situation wasn’t about him versus anyone’s boss, but rather a matter within the Ghanaian music industry.
