Iconic Nigerian singer, Skales has revealed that he became homeless and began sleeping in his car after Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) failed to renew his recording contract and evicted him from the apartment he was given by the label.

The super talented musician said he left the Banky W-owned label with no substantial amount of money and contemplated relocating abroad before his song ‘Shake Body’ became a massive hit and changed his life.

The singer made this disclosure in a recent interview with Beat 99.9 FM, Lagos stating that when he left EME, he had nothing.

According to him, everything just ended in one day after he went from enjoying a luxurious life to sleeping in the car.

He reiterated that, as soon as his contract ended, he lost the house, adding that EME management told him to leave the house immediately the deal expired.

Skales went on to state that all he had was one car, which was a Ford Explorer.

Narrating his ordeal,  he said he was sleeping inside his car for a very long time but little did he know he had a song on his flash drive that was going to change his life.

He further narrated that a few months later, he just put out the song titled ‘Shake Body’ stressing that he didn’t have any money to promote the songs so he uploaded it on SoundCloud and it exploded like wildfire.

The singer revealed that he didn’t even know the song was that big, he just believed and gave up because he was trying to relocate abroad.
