Being In Jail Felt Like Home, It Was Like A Vacation – Shatta Wale Speaks About His Time In Ankaful Prison

Widely revered Ghanaian dancehall musician, Shatta Wale has revealed that his time spent in prison felt like home and was as if he had gone on a vacation.

When asked if the experience he had in prison has somehow humbled him as a person, the ‘Akweley Take’ hitmaker indicated that there is nothing like that and added that the place actually felt like home for him.

Speaking to Giovanni Caleb in a recent interview on  TV3’s Showbiz 360, the self-acclaimed dancehall musician shared how the cell was made up of fans that had been longing to see him and hence treated him like royalty..

According to him, there were quite a number of people there, some of which were over 30 years, that wanted to see him.

She further stated that the way she was treated on the streets, happens to be the same way she was treated when she was placed behind bars.

Per his narration, the experience had no effect on his career since he was able to make more hit songs after getting released.

He reiterated that it wasn’t like they sent him to a place to suffer, and added that when he went there, it was like a vacation.
