I Started YBNL To Avoid Lavishing My Money – Olamide

Famous Nigerian rap icon,Olamide says he started his record label, YBNL Nation in order to reinvest into the music business he is into.
The YBNL CEO revealed that he took this personal decision so he could avoid extravagant spending.
The Nigerian rapper who has currently signed musicians in the likes of Lil Kesh, Fireboy DML, Adekunle Gold, Viktoh, Davolee just to mention a few, in a recent interview with Nandi Madida of Apple Music’s Africa Now Radio, spoke about how the world was loving his music and explained how he decided to make it a lucrative business.
Speaking to the host, he said that theworld is in love with his stuff, and he is grateful for that.
However, he also felt it was high time he made sure he reinvested in that same thing that was making people love and appreciate him.
According to him, it used to be just about passion, but he figured it was high time he stepped up, reinvested and made it a serious business.
Narrating further, he stated that he set his own record label and began signing artistes because he didn’t want all that money to go waste on having fun.
Divergent to this, all that money had to go back into the music business and that was how the whole thing started.
