I Battled So Many Demons When I Went On Break – Guru

Iconic Ghanaian musician, Guru has revealed that he decided to take a break from the music scene because he was battling “so many demons”.

The rapper, who is widely recognized for his monster hits such as “Lapaz Toyota” and “Poley” said he was going through a very difficult time in his life when he decided to take a break from music.

“In life i have battled with so many demons…so during the time people were not hearing from me was due to the fact that i was battling with demons but i have finally conquered them.” he revealed in a recent interview with on Accra-based Okay FM

Though Guru didn’t specify what these demons were, he further revealed that the mother of his 10-year-old daughter also died in Australia a year ago.

The rapper, whose actual name is Maradona Yeboah Adjei, made it clear in the interview that he was devastated by the loss and needed time to grieve.

According to him, the death of his baby mama was one of the major setbacks, adding that it was a very difficult time for him, but he is grateful that he has been able to come out of it stronger.

The CEO of NKZ Music explained that he was initially adamant on releasing his new song, “Can’t Touch This,” but eventually, he decided to do so in honour of his late departed mama.

He stressed that he is now happy to promote his new song and tour around the world and is also grateful for the support of his fans during this difficult moment.
