It Feels Bad Listening To The Songs I Wrote Based On Emotions – Rex Omar

Ghanaian highlife music veteran, Rex Omar identified by birth as Rex Owusu Marfo, has revealed that he wrote some of his songs based on his emotions.

In a recent interview on Cape Coast-based Property FM, the veteran highlife musician said he always feels bad listening to some songs he recorded out of emotions.

He stated that he has  so many songs that he wrote based on emotions and later on, when he listens to it he asks himself that “what stupid thing have I done?”.

He reiterated that he puts those songs aside and sometimes plays those songs and listen to it a bit but many at times he clears some of the lyrics.

According to Rex Omar, sometimes, something might be bothering you and the only way to get it out of your mind is to enter the studio and that’s when your creativity becomes intense.

Adding to this, he stated that recording in the studio is one thing and putting it out there for public hearing is another.
