According to the ‘Odo’ hitmaker, he took up music production because of his label mate, Kuami Eugene who was a genius at music production at the time they were both signed on to the label.

In a recent appearance on the “Sincerely Accra” Podcast, KiDi statwd that Kuami Eugene’s extraordinary talents at singing, songwriting, and music production, made him outstanding, and always prepared, but for he (KiDi), he had to always relied on Lynx Entertainment boss, Richie before he could make music; a situation that compelled him to also learn how to produce songs by himself.

“One of the reasons why I actually learnt how to produce was the fact that Lynx at that time had signed Kuami Eugene and he came fully prepared; he was a producer, a writer, he played an instrument and could work quickly” he said.

“So, every time Kuami Eugene has a new song to his name and I of course had to wait for Richie and if he’s not free then I don’t make music and I told myself that needed to change because the ideas in my head that I wanted to bring to life, I couldn’t” he added.

He concluded by stating that he used to have a 9-5 job at the National Service Secretariat so after work, he will loosen his tie, go into the studio, fold his sleeves and experiment.

According to him, upon his experimenting expedition, he made “Say you love me” and when he saw what it did, it gingered him more and he started building his confidence on production because he realised that as an artist, once you can produce, it influences your music and influences your sound.
