I Wrote My Hit Song “16 Years” In A Taxi – Mzbel Reveals

Iconic Ghanaian music diva, Belinda Ekuah Amoah, popularly known in the entertainment circle as MzBel has revealed that she wrote her hit song, ’16 Years’ in a Taxi.
In a recent interview on 3Music, the female singer said she was cruising in a Taxi when she heard a conversation on the radio about the girl child and rape by famous presenter Maame Dokono.
She narrated that she was in a taxi when she came up with the lyrics, adding that she used to stay with a lot of girls from James Town, so she watched how they talked and the way they behaved, and that time, Maame Dokono was always on the radio talking about rape, so they were in a taxi one day and were listening to Maame Dokono.
She went further to state that while she was watching how people were reacting to the stories of rape, she came up with the hit song she personally titled ’16 years”.
The 43-year-old reiterated that she started writing in the taxi and when she got home, she built on it and finished it up.
