Just In: Daniel Amartey Suffers Fresh Injury, Set To Miss Ghana’s AFCON Qualifier Against CAR

Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton faces a massive setback as Daniel Amartey, the central defender of the senior national team of Ghana, will be absent from the upcoming AfCON qualification match against Central African Republic.

Amartey’s absence from the upcoming AfCON qualifier is as a result of a newly sustained injury. The talented Ghanaian defender, who is currently based in Turkey, has recently suffered an injury setback.

In line with this sudden turn of events, It is anticipated that he will be sidelined for a minimum of two weeks which indicates he will not be able to play in the upcoming AfCON qualification fixture.

The recent injury is said to have occurred during a training session, following his full-time participation in the previous competitive game between his club, Besiktas JK and Dynamo Kiev.

Besiktas JK, the football club Amartey is currently playing for, didn’t compete over the weekend in line with the postponement of their league match against Adana Demirspor.

Unfortunately, the experienced Black Stars defender will also be absent from the crucial second-leg encounter between his side and the Ukrainian team at Vodafone Park.

As a result of his injury, the 28-year-old will be part of the long list of injured players from the Black Stars team who will be sidelined from the upcoming AfCON qualification encounter.

These players include fellow center-backs Mohammed Salisu and Gideon Mensah, alongside Daniel Kofi Kyereh, Goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott, Majeed Ashimeru, and Salis Abdul Samed, all of whom are expected not to be available for the oncoming AfCON qualification clash.
