‘I Have The Biggest DJ Fanbase In Ghana’ – Merqury Quaye

Iconic Ghanaian disc jockey and record producer, Merqury Quaye, has stated that he developed interest in disc jockeying to help push his own songs and that of his colleagues in the creative industry.

In a recent interview on Asaase 99.5FM, Merqury Quaye, preferably recognized as Ghana’s Finest Hypeman revealed that he started DJing because he realised all the friends he had around him were doing music which has to be promoted.

According to him, he took the decision to position himself in a way that will give him the chance to give Ghanaian musicians the required exposure, and also help them connect more with the new audiences around the world.

Merqury Quaye reiterated that his relationship with local and international musicians among others had been great so far, having worked on lots of their projects recently.

He also said that since he entered the showbiz industry, he has garnered the largest DJ fan base in Ghana identified by the name ‘Turn Up Army’.

‘Turn up Army’,he indicated,has a local, national, and even global presence. “I know I have the largest fanbase in the country. That one is a known fact,” he bragged.

Furthermore, Merqury Quaye gave acknowledgement to his Ghanaian fans,
adding that he still remains one of the few Ghanaian industry stakeholders to create a fanbase within and outside the country.
