Blacko, popularly known in the music scene as Black Sheriff has recently provided exclusive insights into his musical journey and the major source of his inspiration.

In a recent interview with CNN’s Larry Madowo, the “Second Sermon” crooner revealed the pivotal role his parents played in nurturing his passion for music.

Laying emphasis on his father’s early introduction to reggae music, Black Sherif highlighted the profound and long-lasting impact this exposure had on his music career.

Additionally, the singer credited his mother’s exceptional musical preferences, constituting indigenous and reggae sounds, for broadening his musical horizons.

“My mum and dad adore music. The first time I met my dad, he introduced me to reggae music. That experience was truly unique,” Blacko disclosed.

Explaining further, he stated that his mum is a fan of Alpha Blondie and Adane Best, which significantly influenced his musical interests and preferences.

This diverse tapestry of influences the Black Sheriff had, became the bedrock of the award-winning musician’s exceptional approach to music creation.

Blacko described his style of music making as a blend of modern day highlife infused with reggae elements, stressing his integration of traditional rhythms and melodies into contemporary compositions.
