We Have An Exceptional Brand – Music Duo, DopeNation Explains The Meaning Of Their Stage Name

Award-winning Ghanaian music duo, DopeNation has shared the motivation behind their choice of stage name, adding a little detail on their new sound, titled ‘GhanaPiano’ and life back in senior high school.

When asked to explain the meaning of their popularly recognized stage name ‘Dope Nation’, the talented duo stated that the meaning ‘Dope’ is the jargon that most people term as unique in its own way, one which implies that ‘wow’ factor.

“Musically, we are unique in our own form” they said.

“We have this elite vision for music and that is why we call ourselves ‘Dope’.  It’s a ‘Nation’ because it’s a movement and we are the ones representing it” they added.

With their new sound that intertwines Ghanaian music genres and that of the popular South African ‘Amapiano’, the identical twins spoke about why they decided to tap into that idea and the name they gave to it, adding that their favourite song on it is yet to be released.

Speaking to Chrystal Kwame-Aryee in a recent interview on Showbiz 360, the popular music duo revealed that they think it’s about time each and everyone gets updated with musical intelligence and at the same time, get entertained as well.

They further stated that, they are aware of the fact that since they as twins are at the borders of the Western world and that of Africa, they should find that bridge that connects everyone and that’s why they came up with ‘GhanaPiano’.”
