Crystal Palace and Ghanaian striker, Jordan Ayew is aiming to help the Black Stars secure qualification for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled to be held in Ivory Coast next year.
The Stars will host Central African Republic (CAR) in their final Group E qualification match at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday September 7.
Ghana, who sit top on of their group, only need a draw or any kind of win to qualify for the upcoming continental tournament.
Jordan Ayew, who has been named in Chris Hughton’s final 25-man squad for the upcoming AfCON qualification match, says the most important thing is to qualify for the tournament.
“We are not yet qualified, the most important thing is for us to qualify and when the time comes, we see,” the Black Stars striker said.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars of Ghana are expected to open camp in Accra today for the final AfCON qualification match that kicks off at 16:00GMT.
The Ghanaian team is facing a 41-year drought and will be looking forward to making it to the most important continental football competition under the supervision of coach Chris Houghton.
