Black Stars coach Chris Hughton’s took the bold decision to include André “Dede” Ayew in his final 25-man squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Central African Republic as well as a friendly match against Liberia.

The decision taken by Chris Houghton has garnered both support and debate within the footballing terrain.

The highly acknowledged Ghanaian forward, who is currently without a club, has found an unlikely champion in the person of Ghanaian football legend Mohammed Polo.

The Black Stars of Ghana are currently on top of their qualifying group, but the stakes are very high, as a defeat against Central African Republic could result in an unanticipated exit from the continental football competition scheduled to be played in Ivory Coast early next year.

The criticism surrounding Andre Ayew’s inclusion in the recently released Black Stars squad revolves around his clubless status and recent hiatus from competitive matches.

However, Mohammed Polo, a respected personality in Ghanaian football, has come out to lend his support to Chris Hughton’s decision.

In a recent interview on Happy FM, Polo stressed that Chris Hughton’s decision to include Dede Ayew should be respected.

According to him, the Ghanaian coach knows what the inclusion of a player like Dede would do to the team and that is why he the man in charge took such decision.

“The experience of Dede cannot be doubted so Ghanaians should respect the decision of the coach” he said.

Dede Ayew, who has netted 24 impressive goals for the Black Stars, undoubtedly has the potential to make a massive impact on the team’s performance if given the chance to play in the crucial match scheduled for September 7.
