I Was Born Into Abject Poverty – Sandra Ababio



Widely revered Ghanaian actress, Sandra Ababio has finally opened up on a personal chapter of her life, where she endured abject poverty and extreme hardship.

In contravention to the extravagant life she currently portrays, Sandra stated that she was born into abject poverty, a situation that was so extreme that their next meal was always unpredictable.

She stated that her father, without a stable job, and her mother, who worked as a petty trader, faced the problem of making ends meet and providing basic needs and security for their four children.

Sandra Ababio vividly recalled their persistent movement from one home to another, adding that the only decent house they ultimately lived in after years of struggle was a single room with a small porch.

Furthermore, she detailed how that the small porch they lived in, served as a makeshift stall for the things they sold, while revealing that at other times, it was their sleeping place.

Contributing to the family’s income, Sandra Ababio hawked various groceries which earned her the nickname “queen mother of tomatoes.”

While speaking with teary eyes, Sandra opened up on how miserable she and her family became during rainy seasons as their roof leaked badly.

He further narrated that, at a point in her life, they were subjected to living in a wooden structure where they continued to sleep on benches or the bare cold floor.

Despite facing these heartbreaking challenges in her formative years, she went on to become a successful actress and television show host kind courtesy recommendation by thespians Delay and Kumawood actor, Kwadwo Nkansah (Lilwin).

The highly acknowledged Kumawood actress used the opportunity to remind her fans of the essence of perseverance and hard work, adding that it is possible to overcome adversity and achieve one’s dreams.
