Top-class Ghanaian female music star and Rufftown Records signee, Wendy Asiamah Addo, popularly known in the entertainment scene as Wendy Shay, has advised her colleagues in the music industry to resort to some form of spiritual backing in order to be able to make it in the country’s music space.
According to the ‘Shay On You’ hitmaker, talent and hardwork are not the only qualities needed to make it in the Ghanaian music industry.
The award-winning female singer added that it takes faith in one’s object of worship to complement their hard work in the music industry.
Explaining further, she emphasized that no musician can make it to the top without any spiritual backing or divine fortification.
The Rufftown Record signee made this thought provoking disclosure while speaking to Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Twitter Spaces on the success stories and challenges of women in Ghanaian showbiz industry.
“Every artiste you have seen on top is not doing what they are doing carnally. I go by the mantra ‘work hard and have faith.’ Hard work goes hand in hand with faith” she stated.
She reiterated that, after working hard in the studio to get songs recorded and doing whatever needs to be done as a music maker, he would advise that artists go out to also seek for spiritual backing.
To support her advisory message, she stated emphatically, that they as musicians don’t do whatever they are do carnally.
“It is either you are in the light or you are in the darkness. This is what a lot of underground musicians don’t know. It is either you believe in God or Jesus Christ or whatever you believe in, to order your steps for you. I mean, if you do it with your natural strength, you’ll get tired and discouraged” she further stated.
