Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu has finally opened up on playing for the senior national football team, the Black Stars.
The Clermont Foot defender has been recognized a regular player for the Ghanaian team since making his debut for the Black Stars in 2022. He was part of the Black Stars team that played at the World Cup in Qatar last year.
In a recent interview with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) communications team, the enterprising right-back stated that it’s a great honour for him to represent Ghana at the international level.
“It’s big privilege for me representing my country and it’s a special thing in my career because all footballers are dreaming to play for their motherland and me playing for my motherland, I think it’s a big achievement for me” he told Ghana FA communications during the interview.
Seidu put up an impressive performance as the Black Stars of Ghana defeated Central African Republic by two goals to one in Kumasi to qualify for the 2024 African Cup Of Nations (AfCON) tournament.
The West African stunners secured AFCON 2023 qualification last Thursday with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the Greater Kumasi region.
The resilient performance during the team’s final AfCON qualification match ensured Ghana finished top of their group.
The four-time African champions will play against Liberia in an international friendly on Tuesday, 12 September at the Accra Sports Stadium.
