‘Ghana Has The Worst Football Pitches In Africa’ – Former Black Stars Coach Claude Le Roy

Former Head coach of the Black Stars Cluade le Roy has asserted that Ghana has the worst pitches in Africa after watching the West African team’s recent game against Liberia.

According to Claude Le Roy, the worst aspect of the deplorable state of the Accra Sports Stadium is not its substandard VIP section but rather the “POTATO” pitch professional football is played on.

“The first thing [at the stadium] is not the quality of the armchair in the VIP room, but the quality of the pitch” he said.

“In more than 20 years in Africa, it’s the worst pitch I’ve ever seen”-Claude Le Roy on Accra Stadium pitch” he confessed.

In recent years, Ghana has been struggling to get CAF’s approval for home games due to the poor nature of the stadium and pitches used for hosting international and local football matches in the country.
