Why I Didn’t Sign Omah Lay – Olamide Tells It All

Nigerian rapper and music executive, Olamide Adedeji, the popularly known as Olamide, has finally opened up on why he didn’t sign Omah Lay to his YBNL Nation label.

The YBNL CEO said he had plans of to signing Omah Lay in the early days of his career, but the singer informed him that he already had a contract with another record label.

Baddo, as he is preferably referred to, made this disclosure in an exclusive interview with British-Nigerian media personality Adesope Olajide, otherwise known as Shopsydoo.

“Somebody sent me Omah Lay’s song, ‘Bad Influence,’ I had to like search for him on Instagram. I messaged him that I want to sign him but he told me that he got a [recording] deal already” Olamide revealed.

The iconic rapper also stated that he was depressed for barely four years after running out of hit songs.

He, however, stated that he got his “swag back” after releasing back-to-back hit songs like ‘Wo’ and ‘Motigbana.’

“Till date, songs like WO, MOTIGBANA, are like magic to me. I thought I could never get myself again. I was going crazy,” the rapper said.
