Lionel Messi Opens Up On His Chances Of Playing At The 2026 World Cup

After helping the Argentinian national team to win the 2022 World Cup, there have been numerous concerns raised on whether Lionel Messi will participate in the next World Cup tournament scheduled for the year 2026.

However, in a recent interview, the Argentine skipper opened up on his chances of playing in the next FIFA World Cup which will held in USA and Mexico three years from.

According to Messi, he wants to make it to the next Copa America in good condition then afterwards, he will see if he will take part in the upcoming mundial depending on how he is.

Adding to this, he stated emphatically that he is not thinking about the next World Cup yet.

He reiterated that the years have passed and as such he  has to see how he feels before finally deciding on participating in the World Cup.

Over the course of his football career, the Inter Miami striker has won the Ballon d’Or seven times and also set the record of winning the most European Golden Boots, but when he moved to Inter Miami, he didn’t take any of those trophies with him to USA.

Messi, however, revealed that all of those trophies are currently in Barcelona.
