“Inaki Williams Is Struggling To Score For Black Stars Because Of Our Selfish Midfielders” – Dan Quaye

Former Ghana international Dan Quaye has called out Black Stars midfielders for Inaki Williams’ inability to scoring goals for the national team.

The Athletic Bilbao attacker has been a major of discussion as far as goal-scoring is concerned, as he has struggled to find the back of the net since switching nationality from Spain to play for the Black Stars in June 2022.

After 11 games played for the Black Stars, Inaki is yet to find the back of the net for the four-time AfCON champions.

Despite his struggles with the Black Stars, Inaki Williams remains a key player for Athletico Bilbao in the Spanish La Liga, where his performances have attracted significant recognition, including personal honors and nominations.

In an exclusive interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM, Dan Quaye, a former Black Stars player, attributed Inaki Williams’ scoring predicaments to the selfish attitude of Ghana’s current midfielders.

“It’s about time we reinstate some of the experienced players in the Black Stars. Inaki Williams has struggled to score for the national team since switching allegiance because of our midfielders.” Dan Quaye asserted.

“I believe Mubarak Wakaso, who is capable of delivering long balls to the attackers, can help him resolve his goal-scoring woes with the Black Stars. Wakaso always ensures he feeds strikers with the balls, and he has the experience for long balls, much like Sulley Muntari. We are the Brazil of Africa, and we must respect that,” he added.
