We Could Have Scored Ghana More Than 4 – U.S Coach Gregg Berhalter Brags

Head Coach of the U.S Men’s national team, Gregg Berhalter has reiterated that he believes the Black Stars of Ghana could have lost to his side by a wider margin.

The four times AfCON champions  were humiliated by the US team two days ago in an international friendly match at Geodis Park in Nashville, Tennessee.

Berhalter’s side were flamboyant in the first half, with two goals from Giovanni Reyna, Christian Pulisic and Leon Balogun, doing maximum damage to the Ghanaian team in less than 40 minutes.

However, Ghana held their own in the second 45 minutes and prevented the American team from adding up to the already embarrassing scoreline.

Speaking in a post match presser, Berhalter praised Ghana’s unwavering fighting spirit in the second forty-five minutes, adding that the Black Stars could have lost by a bigger margin if they hadn’t been proactive in weathering the storm.

“Being down four nothing at halftime, Ghana had a choice; they could have mailed in the second half and could have lost eight nothing but they didn’t do that,” Berhalter said.

“They kept fighting till the last minute of the game. They didn’t play a great half but they didn’t give up and that’s an important quality that a team shows” he commended the Ghanaian team.
